A team of WINGS ladies and one man braved the elements on Tuesday morning to collect litter around the Loop as part of the Keep Whangarei Beautiful initiative sponsored by G.J.Gardner.

We covered the whole circuit and managed to fill two large sacks with every type of rubbish ranging from plastic wrappers, cigarette ends, scraps of balloons, tissues and even a discarded hub cap.

It was a fun-filled and productive morning spending time together, chatting along the way and ending our efforts with a well-earned cuppa by the very attractive seating at Te Matau ā Pohe Bridge. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped.
