Despite the wild, wet and windy conditions, a hardy group of women turned out to enjoy an evening of Line Dancing at the Wings Theme Night on 2nd of August led competently by Rhonda Wilson.
We tapped our toes and strutted our moves to Rumba, Rock’n’roll and some older songs of our youth (at least for those of us who could remember them!)
Under Rhonda’s patient tutelage, we mastered the more basic Line Dancing steps before graduated to slightly more complicated moves which certainly tested our memory and coordination. Lots of smiles and laughter when some of the ‘Line’ went one way and some the other.
Rhonda told us that dancing is one of the best forms of exercise to keep mind and body active; our short introduction certainly proved that it can be physically and mentally challenging.
It is an activity which all can enjoy whatever their age or ability so, if you’d like to give it a try, there are classes held at the Kamo Club on Wednesday evenings and Monday mornings.
Yee hah!
